Shaftec’s New To Range adds more brake calipers for the new year

Birmingham-based automotive remanufacturer Shaftec Automotive has added further parts to its New To Range portfolio for January, with four new brake calipers joining the collection.

Key applications for the new brake calipers include the BC11861/BC21861 for vehicles such as the Volkswagen Golf VIII (2020 onwards), and the Audi A3 Sportback (2019 onwards). The BC11882/BC21882 brake calipers are used with the Peugeot 2008 II (2019 onwards) and the Vauxhall Mokka (2020 onwards).

These new additions come following the 25 new brake calipers and two driveshafts added to the New To Range collection in October.

Shaftec Marketing Manager Adrian Kitchen said: “Developing our New To Range portfolio is an exciting priority for 2025. We are thrilled to bring even more brake caliper options to our customers, each of them able to fit to a number of different vehicles.

“Our commitment to remanufacturing ensures these parts not only match but often exceed the performance of newer alternatives. We can assure our customers that they will enjoy exceptional reliability and significant savings without compromise. It's an exciting time for us as we continue to innovate and offer even greater solutions to the market.”

Here are some signs that your brake calipers might need changing:

·       Reduced stopping power: If you notice that your vehicle is taking longer to stop than usual

·       Pulling to one side: Your brake caliper might be seized if the car pulls to one side while braking

·       A sticking caliper could cause the brake pads to wear unevenly

·       A stuck caliper could cause a grinding noise when braking

·       And last but certainly not least, damaged caliper seals can cause the vehicle to leak brake fluid which can be dangerous

Shaftec always recommends that if drivers notice any issues with their vehicle, they seek the advice of an expert.
