Following the recent launch of the EK454 and EK457, equipped with standard and thin taper terminals according to European Norm (EN) and Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) respectively, this latest addition to the Exide AGM battery range demonstrates its dedication to offering professionals even more choice, one that will provide them with a comprehensive, dependable and enduring battery portfolio.
Exclusively designed as a backup battery, the 12V 1.2Ah EK013 is engineered to support automatic drivetrain electronics and gearbox electric oil pumps. Next to the standard auxiliary battery – typically behind the glove box in most cases – it is used to support advanced stop-start systems. This latest addition from Exide plays an essential role in allowing motorists to drive their vehicles normally – even in the event of a malfunction or failure within the main 12V battery pack.
The Range Rover Evoque, as well as many Mercedes Benz cars and vans – including the pure electric EQ series – are covered by this new auxiliary battery, emphasising the versatility Exide’s AGM EK013 offers.
