Comline Group, the leading British distributor of Comline, Motaquip and Allied Nippon brands, announces the promotion of Nick Weir to the position of product director

Comline Group, the leading British distributor of Comline, Motaquip and Allied Nippon brands, announces the promotion of Nick Weir to the position of product director. Nick’s journey with the company spans nearly two decades, a period during which he has held various roles that have been integral to the group’s growth and success.

Nick first joined Comline Group in 2005 in a sales and technical capacity. Leveraging his extensive experience and knowledge of the automotive aftermarket, gained in large part through management of a motor factor in Kent alongside his brother, Chris, Nick quickly established himself as a versatile and integral part of the business.

Over the years, Nick has taken on diverse responsibilities, including IT, procurement and sales, before transitioning into a product-focused role in 2019. Assuming his new position as product director at a time when Comline Group settles into its new global headquarters in Bedford, Nick says it is an honour to be offered the title and responsibility.

He said: “Comline Group has been a huge part of my life, and I appreciate the trust and responsibility the company has placed in me. My focus will be on ensuring that we continue to innovate, expand and refine our product offerings to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving aftermarket.”

Nick’s automotive journey began in the late 1980s, progressing from retail to second-line distribution and motor factoring. This hands-on experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s demands, including customer needs and operational efficiency.

These transferrable attributes, his dedication to his work and his leadership skills, have been instrumental in Comline Group’s growth, from its early days in Wembley, then to Luton, and now to its state-of-the-art new headquarters at Bedford Commercial Park.

In his new role, Nick will oversee the development and strategic alignment of the Comline Group product portfolio across its various international markets. This includes the UK, Greece, Spain and Ireland where Comline Group subsidiaries are located, and over 50 countries worldwide where its branded products are distributed. With a keen eye on the future, he aims to navigate the challenges posed by the rise of electric vehicles and the changing landscape of the parts pareto.

Comline Group Managing Director, Ishan Kamdar, said: “Nick has played a vital role in Comline Group’s trajectory. His deep understanding of our business, the automotive aftermarket and the key players within it, combined with his passion, people skills and vision, make him the right choice for the newly created product director position.

“His commitment to Comline Group has been evident throughout his career, and I am confident he will continue to drive the company to even greater heights in this new role.”
